Find the right boot for you
Fit preference — how the boot feels around your whole foot, not just width and length:
- Natural Fit: best for players who want a more relaxed fit and/or have wider feet. Tiempo and Phantom boots.
- Contoured Fit: best for players who want a snug, secure fit that minimizes the space between your foot and the ball. Order your usual size for a snug fit; size up half a size if you prefer a looser fit. Mercurial boots.
Low vs. High — where the boot meets your ankle:
- Low: meets just below the ankle bone. Available without a cuff, in standard lacing and ghost-lacing closures. Tiempo, Phantom and Mercurial all offer no-cuff options.
- High: has a cuff intended to meet just above the ankle bone. The Dynamic Fit collar wraps the ankle in soft, stretchy fabric. Can feel snug initially with a sock-like entry; loosens up with wear. Phantom and Mercurial offer high-cuffed options.
Materials — what the boot's upper is made from:
- Flyknit / Gripknit: Nike-only materials giving a barefoot-like feel on the ball; conforms to the foot. Found in Mercurial and Phantom.
- FlyTouch: soft engineered leather with All Conditions Control (ACC) for wet/dry play; moulds to the foot without overstretching.
FAQ: Nike Football Boots
Q1: Do Nike football boots come in half sizes?
A1: Yes — adult Nike football boots (Tiempo, Phantom, Mercurial) are available in the full standard half-size run, just like other Nike footwear.
Q2: I don't see my usual size in the chart above — what do I do?
A2: This chart only covers US-Men 5–14, the range we currently stock in adult boots. If you need a size outside that range, contact us directly — sizes below 5 fall into kids' sizing (separate chart).
Q3: What does Nike mean by "fit preference" in boots?
A3: Fit preference is about how the boot feels around your entire foot, not just length and width — see Natural vs. Contoured above.
Q4: What's the difference between low and high Nike boots?
A4: See Low vs. High above — it's about where the boot meets your ankle, not overall sizing.
Q5: What materials are used in Nike soccer boots?
A5: See Materials above — Flyknit/Gripknit (Mercurial, Phantom) or FlyTouch leather with ACC.
Q6: How do I measure my foot to find my boot size?
A6:
- Tape a piece of paper to a hard, flat surface so it can't slip.
- Stand on the paper, feet shoulder-width apart, weight evenly balanced (one foot on the paper at a time).
- Have someone mark the tip of your big toe and the outermost point of your heel, pen held straight down.
- Step off and measure the distance between the two marks — that's your foot length.
- Repeat on the other foot (feet are often slightly different lengths).
- Use the longer measurement and match it to the "Foot length" column in the chart above (in inches or cm). If you're between sizes, size up.
